I have no idea in what way it differs from Dinan's software, on the face of it they seem to be similar packages, but this one has a name that sounds like it came off the same shelf as that good ol' snake oil.

Actually Jim Conforti has a good reputation as a chip designer. The main advantage is that it's do-it-yourself, plugs into the OBDII port, hence the name.
