Weight savings is approximately 5 kg -- and as it is rotating the effective improvement should be greater than the dead weight.

These pieces are for the Alpina Z8. Only four were made so that cost is substantial. Similar units could be made for the "regular" Z8's. In small numbers (i.e., less than 10), however, the cost would be in excess of $5000 per piece -- although $1000 per approximately each kg of weight savings is inexpensive by high end race standards.

As to other information:

1. shaft made from carbon

2. far end made from aluminum

3. spline made from titanium

4. cv made from steel

5. cv balls are ceramic

6. cv cover made from aluminum
