I've just replaced my old Pole Position tires with a new set of Pilot Sport tires on my 2002 Z8 daily driver with 30k miles. However, now my low tire frame tilt sensor is activating every 4-8 days, usually after a 45 minute drive. I pull over and check the tire pressures, and they are all within 1# of my 37psi preference.

Does anyone have an idea why the new pilot sports would set off the tire sensor? I've performed the reset function called for in the manual, but still have this random sensor indication.

Thanks!

I had the same issue when I put on the Dunlops. I dont think the tire per say is the problem. Oddly, the light went on more frequently at altitude. It stopped after about a week.

How odd, that a tire would cause this sensor problem. Thanks for confirming you had simlar problems that I have been experiencing the past 3 weeks. I'll wait longer before barking at my service shop.

Did you reset the Tire Pressure Monitor? (I know this seems like a silly question, but this could cause your problem if you did not reset it).
